Latin American Golfers Attend The Brazilian Juvenile Golf Championship

The 21st Brazilian Pre-Juvenile and Juvenile Amateur Golf Championship were held from January 26 to 29 in the state of Paraná, at the Alphaville Graciosa Clube, in Pinhais (8 km far from Curitiba). More than 100 competitors have participated in the Juvenile tournament.                                                 
The Brazilian Golf Confederation invited players from neighboring countries to participate in the tournament. Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay have confirmed their presence in the competition. The Juvenile Director of the Brazilian Golf Confederation (CBG), Cida Palmberg, said that “the purpose is to maximize the competition level, while promoting interchange with other young golfers.”
Players from the Japeri Golf Links - a public golf course in Japeri, Baixada Fluminense, state of Rio de Janeiro – who teach low income youngsters have also participated, represented by Anderson Nunes, Breno da Silva, Cristian Barcelos, Luan de Oliveira and Vitória Araújo.
This is the tournament that grants more score to the Brazilian Juvenile ranking, and was played in the stroke play modality, with 54 holes – 18 per day.
The Golf Youth Cup was held simultaneously to the tournament, with mixed teams appointed by each federation. The two best performances of each day are scored.
